Kivonat:This thesis analyzes the shifting dynamics of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in China in the post-pandemic era. It investigates the economic, regulatory, and geopolitical factors behind the recent decline in FDI inflows, using both qualitative observations and official data sources. The study compares China’s situation with Vietnam and India, highlighting the changing competitive landscape. Findings reveal that rising labor costs, regulatory unpredictability, and intensifying global tensions have significantly weakened investor confidence. The thesis also reflects on China’s historical investment promotion strategies and discusses why the post-2020 FDI slowdown differs from global patterns. Finally, policy recommendations are offered to restore trust and attract sustainable investment.
