Kivonat:Kosovo's adoption of the euro in the early 2000s provided the country with critical monetary stability following conflict and economic collapse. This thesis examines the economic impacts of euroization on Kosovo, focusing on macroeconomic stability, trade balance, structural vulnerabilities, and foreign direct investment (FDI) trends. Through a comprehensive literature review and analysis of macroeconomic data, the study finds that euroization has successfully anchored inflation expectations and enhanced financial sector development. However, Kosovo continues to face persistent structural challenges, including a large trade deficit, high reliance on remittances, and concentration of FDI in non-productive sectors such as real estate and banking. While euroization removed currency risk and stabilized the economy, it also restricted the government's ability to use monetary tools to promote export competitiveness and investment diversification. The findings highlight that sustaining long-term growth in Kosovo requires complementary reforms in governance, market structure, and institutional quality alongside monetary stability.
