Understanding these motives are essential and with the help of segmentation it easier to define what is influencing the potential customers in their decision making process. In this paper the focus will be on people who either already participated in one or would like to travel because of an esport event. A brief overview was also written in order to understand this industry and see where it is headed. A primary research was carried by a questionnaire type survey. 256 person submitted a response and an analysis was made from their answer. They were divided into two groups, those who have already been to an esport event and those who did not but are willing to visit one in the future as the results showed. The aim was on the reasons why they travel not why they watch esport related content. The main motivation for both group was to generally have fun and just enjoying their time by watching professional play a video game they like while they cheer with their friends. The relatively young viewer base this industry has the potential to grow and tourism can integrate into this area easily if the decision makers understand why they behave like they do.
