| Kivonat: | This thesis explores the current state of sustainability of luxury hotels from the perspective of the Hungarian market. With data collection and literature review, key practices, challenges, and motivations are identified behind the sustainable initiatives. Previous research primarily focus on the global market, thus has been unable to identify the nuances of the Hungarian hotel sector. Through in-depth interviews with managerial personnel of Hungarian luxury properties, findings could reveal a progress in both environmental and CSR related initiatives but highlight significant gaps as well. Based on the learned facts, the study offers recommendations to improve future sustainable efforts across the Hungarian luxury hotel industry. |
