Kivonat:This thesis investigates the eco-conscious behaviour of Hungarian Generation Z tourists, focusing on their environmental attitudes, and practices at home and on holiday. It examines the effects of climate change, the global tourism market, and the relationship between the two. The study also analyzes the emergence of sustainable tourism and the role of stakeholders and consumers in promoting environmental protection. Through a questionnaire-based study, the research found that while Hungarian Generation Z expresses concern towards climate change, and practices sustainability at home, their actions on holiday tends to fall short, often without full awareness. This intention-behaviour gap appears to be influenced by factors such as convenience, comfort, and financial limitations. The study concludes by emphasizing the need for targeted education, increased awareness, and more accessible and transparent sustainable options within the tourism industry to help reduce the negative effects of climate change.
