Kivonat:In summary, this research paper discovers the viability of implementing animal therapy in the hospitality environment. It does so through defining and understanding animal therapy and its’ impacts; pointing out the possibilities of it as a niche marketing tool; placing it into the wellness and health tourism sector and discussing its’ attributes with the help of a SWOT analysis. A primer qualitative research method was used through interviews of 4 accommodation owners and employees and of 2 animal therapists. The key findings can be separated into two part. The viability of a long-term animal therapy in the hospitality sector is only in hypothesis but the short-term implementation of events including animal therapy is already viable in the form of trainings and has a higher chance at evolving. A further investigation of the field is required through different research methods and wider sample sizes.
