Description
Abstract:The dissertation investigates the impact of global warming on ski tourism in Austria. This will be done by using secondary sources as well as primary research, highlighting the reduced reliability of snow cover, shorter seasons, and changing tourist motivations and behaviour. Interviews and surveys established high levels of awareness of the impacts of climate change, as well as strong collective support for adaptation. Overall, the findings from this study conclude that resorting to sustainable diversification and implementing collaborative strategies are of paramount importance to facilitate the future sustainability of ski tourism in Austria.
