The study is situated in a context where debates about women’s rights and gender equality have been reframed as ideological conflicts, especially through the politicisation of the Istanbul Convention. This environment has created uncertainty about the understanding of GBV as a human rights issue, replacing accountability with political rhetoric. The paper’s central purpose is therefore to determine whether the ambiguity present in political narratives also visible in the communication practices of the Hungarian Police when talking about GBV cases. | |
