| 520 | 3 | |a Synopsis First, I would like to talk about why I chose this topic. The two translated texts were about students’ demonstration and education. Both texts were very professional, so it was challenging to find definitions for some terms. Fortunately, I found lots of texts on the internet of this topic, which can be found in the bibliography of my thesis. The education text was written in English. Accordingly, the translation process was easier. Both texts were well-sctructured and understandable, however my degree in economics helped me greatly. As a translator, I think that it is inevitable not to gain insight into the source language culture. In this case, it was necessary too. Secondly, I have to emphasize that it was a very interesting experience. The most challenging part throughout my work was the analysis. Even the choice of texts was not easy to meet all the requirements. The texts were very objective. For this reason, I could not know much about the writer’s personality. With regard to verbalisation, antonym translation and active voice, it was hard to find any. Moreover, it was especially difficult to find culturally-bound expressions since the texts were rather international then culturally-bound. There were many hard parts in the texts, which would have led to misunderstanding if we had not translated them word by word. Finally, I think that the translated texts are equivalent and easy to understand. With my translation, I tried to ease understanding and for this reason I gave explanations where it was needed. In the end of my thesis, the terminologies are charted and defined. Kisújszállás, 2018.május 27. | |
