Abstract:Industry 4.0 is a new industrial production model which based on the concept of intelligent production. Industry 4.0 focuses on integration of information, communication and industrial technologies and aims to establish a more flexible production model by using this data-information production system. Industry 4.0 brings up the competition and collaboration of virtual and physical manufacturing systems on a global scale by making the smart factories possible. In that context, it is important for developing countries to achieve sustainable growth goals by keeping their competiveness level protected and developed. Therefore, in this study, Turkey’s current industrial structure is examined as a developing country and the possible effects of Industry 4.0 on Turkey’s competitiveness are analyzed by considering the fundamental features and principles of the concept of Industry 4.0.
