Labor Migration of Kyrgyzstan in the framework of Eurasian Economic Union

| Kivonat: | Today migration plays an ever-increasing role in the economies of all countries of the world. It can be considered as an instrument for distribution of labor resources. More importantly, it identifies the tendencies in the development of relations between the states, as well as the trends in the internal economic and political situation in the countries. Under such circumstances, labor migration is becoming an essential part of the overall flow of international labor migration. Countries participate as importers and exporters in the exchange of labor resources. The goal of the senior thesis work involves the study of the current state of Kyrgyz labor migrants in Russia after Kyrgyzstan has integrated in Eurasian Economic Union in 2015. First, theoretical aspects of the study of international labor migration are presented in this paper. Secondly, the study of the current state and problems of Kyrgyz labor migrants in Russia were made in the work. Main changes, effects and existing problems of the migrants has been identified and shown in the form of diagrams and charts. After analysis of the primary and secondary data, the study revealed that to a greater extent, EAEU has positively changed the situation of the migrants who work in Russia. However, there are still challenges that they face in their daily life there. The thesis work also highlights the significance for Kyrgyz migrants to educate themselves and learn more about their legal rights after the integration to the Union. More generally there is a need to study and investigate further the socio-economic realities of the migrants. These findings hold implication for the state agencies on key aspects to pay attention to in order to improve the position of Kyrgyz labor migrant workers in the Russian Federation. |
