Abstract: | The purpose of this paper is to emphasize the need for destination management and destination management organizations to pursue sustainable community-based tourism in Mongolia by identifying challenges of the tourism industry, analyzing the current situation, capacity, and advantages. The research proposed DMO structure and branding for Hovsgol province based on the analysis of destination audit and SWOT analysis since it viewed as the top destination for both domestic and international visitors. A case study on the vulnerable and unique reindeer herding community inhabit in Hovsgol province is analyzed. Guides to build a sustainable tourism industry that enhances the economic opportunity to the community and preserves the environment are suggested. |
