Kivonat:In an industry worth 250$ Million each year there is a dark side, there is a long history of the involvement of animals in circuses, zoos, fairs, ecotourism, and wildlife tourism. The wave of responsibility and sustainability that currently permeates the tourism field is catalyzing deeper moral questions about welfare, rights, justice, and values in regard to this use. Tourism and Animal Ethics represents a required extension of the sustainability imperative and environmental theory by providing a critical account of the role that animals play in tourism. The image of each touristic destination can also be linked to the type of activities can be practiced there, that’s why we conducted this research in order to understand the relationship between animal ethics and the image of different tourist destinations as well as the impact of information about animal welfare violations in a destination can impact the decision making of the tourists considering this destination, by answering the following questions: Are tourists aware of the animal welfare violations? How an animal cruelty image influences the tourist’s decision making? What defines the opinion of tourists about animal welfare in tourism ? I base my paper on a quantitative study using surveys and focusing on Marrakech as case study, to collect data from tourists who have visited Marrakech. By collecting all this information, we’ll be able to answer the previous questions and define an efficient framework basis, which reduces the animal abuse for the seek of tourist’s entertainment, without negatively impacting the performance of the destination.
