Description
Abstract:Abstract: The objective of this research is to study the Indian investments in Hungary over the timespan and to determine the main motivations behind Indian Foreign Direct Investments in the country. Before the wave of privatization in the 1990s, India was a crucial economic partner of Hungary. Recently, this trend is setting in again. The economic and investment relations between the two countries have been on the upward trajectory and this swing is expected to continue. This is because of new investment opportunities and increased bilateral agreements. In the last decade, there have been only a few academic research on Indian investments in Hungary and their entry through indirect channels. This leaves ample room for this topic to be explored and analyzed. The study analyzes the determinants of Indian FDI in Hungary from all perspectives; Economic, Political and Regulatory policies. It uses the panel data analysis to understand the fluctuation in FDI from India in the past. It further analyzes the peculiar case of the astonishingly large indirect Indian FDI in Hungary.
