Abstract:This thesisinvestigates the changing patterns of trade in Central Asia over the past twodecades, focusing on Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, andUzbekistan. As a region with a rich history as a crossroads of civilizationsand trade, Central Asia has experienced significant shifts in trade dynamicsand economic relationships in recent times.With the analysis of datasets, such as UN COMTRADE, and secondarysources, this study explores the underlying factors that have shaped theredirection of trade flows in Central Asia and examines the role of regionaland international organizations in facilitating trade. The thesis also touchesthe topic of the opportunities and challenges of increasing regional economiccooperation and the implications for sustainable growth in the region.
