Inflation in the eurozone between 2019 and 2022

| Kivonat: | Until 2020, the economies of the eurozone’s member statesovercame the 2008 financial crisis and were on a balanced growth path. However,as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the energy crisis and theRussia-Ukraine war, inflation in the eurozone has risen to unprecedentedlevels.In my thesis, I looked into the evolution of euro area's inflationbetween 2019 and 2022, analysing its development separately in Germany andFrance. I have also attempted to examine the factors that caused the price growth rate to spiralout of control. I tried to present and analyse the change of inflationover time and its sectoral development with the help of graphs.In my thesis, I mainly focused on analysing the inflation of the past 4 years,but I considered it necessary to make a brief historical outlook focusing on previouseconomic crises, and related inflation, as previously used crisis managementtechniques and solutions can help the economy fight inflation. |
