Description
Abstract:The study is aimed to explore the awareness and adoption of cryptocurrency in Pakistan. For this purpose, the previous research is analyzed and evaluated to find out the different types of cryptocurrencies being used in Pakistan and also explore the possible risk of using cryptocurrency in Pakistan. As digital currency is not authorized by the State Bank of Pakistan but still public is free to trade in cryptocurrency therefore it is necessary to highlight different risks of fraud, money laundering, and hacking. These risks are distorting the trust of the public in cryptocurrency however effective regulations and laws could be used to mitigate these risks as other countries are also adopting these measures. The support of the government could also impact positively the adoption of cryptocurrency in Pakistan as the government could support the use of digital currency in Pakistan which increased the potential opportunities for investors. The implication of proper policies and instructions of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan could help the investor to trade the cryptocurrency and find the factors that could help them to make decisions about retaining and releasing the cryptocurrency.
