| Kivonat: | These days the topic of sustainability in all fields of life is more relevant than ever before. Supporting, and promoting sustainable tourism practices such as ecotourism enhances the biodiversity and the conversation of nature. Ecotourism has numerous positive impacts which may provide relief against mass tourism. Although professionals are aware of these issues, the general public seems to have a lack of knowledge regarding the seriousness of the problem and also the possibilities they have for being a more environmentally friendly traveler. The problem is often not originating from the lack of will to act, but the lack of knowledge. Certainly, travelers are inclined to opt for mass tourism, if they are unfamiliar with the sustainable alternatives such as ecotourism. |
