Kivonat:Football is an outstandingly popular sport also internationally and is undoubtedly the most beloved sport in Europe and in many other parts of the world. It also has a huge impact on people, moves huge crowds and huge amounts of money, which clearly makes it a decisive factor in the life of a country in many different sectors. The development and evolution of the sport is an interesting story, which I would like to present in my thesis. At the same time, I would like to find an answer to the question of how football emerged in our country and how it has developed to its current state. The role of youth training and football academies have a huge importance in the sport. The emergence of academies has brought significant changes in the field of youth education, and this process is ongoing. One of my main objectives is to demonstrate the emergence of academies, their brief history, and their role in the system of youth training. The focus of my research is on the training in academies, with a particular emphasis on the extent to which they are a guarantee of a future professional career. I will examine the circumstances that determine the success of young players in becoming professional footballers and the factors that play a role in this. In my thesis, I also touch the role of the Hungarian Football Federation (HFF), as HFF has a significant impact on the Hungarian football. I will analyse how the HFF contributes to the success of the youth system and academies, as well as to the results of the adult national team and club teams. The economic aspect cannot be ignored in the analysis either, as the financing of the sport and the incentive system set up by the HFF are also fundamental to the development of football. Last but not least, I would also like to find an answer to the question that how big the impact of the academic training on the current success of the senior national team is and how this might develop in the future. To explore the links between the success of the national team and the training provided in academies, I will carry out comparative analyses and present opinions of several relevant and recognized experts. To sum up, my two research questions which will be thoroughly walked around in my thesis are the followings: 1. Whether a player who has been trained in the priority academy system at a young age is more likely to become a professional, first or second division player or a national team player at adult level in Hungary. 2. Players who achieve better results at team and individual level during their academy years are more likely to become professional footballers.
