Kivonat:Medical tourism has evolved from traditional practices, such as holistic health approaches to modern interventions, involving advanced technology and specialized care. This thesis explores the motivations and profiles of tourists seeking medical treatment abroad, focusing on factors influencing decision-making. Globalization, internet-facilitated connectivity, and affordability in underdevelopedand developed countries drive this trend, with popular treatments ranging from cosmetic surgery to dental care and fertility procedures. Hungary, a historically significant destination with its Roman-era thermal baths, now offers diverse medical services, including dental, cosmetic, orthopedic, and emerging oncology treatments. Through a mixed-method approach, this study incorporates quantitative analysis via a questionnaire targeting medical tourists and qualitative content analysis of reviews for Hungarian clinics. The objective of this paper is toprovide insight on thekey trends, motivations, and satisfaction levels in the medical tourism industry. The findings aim to aid medical providers to appropriately cater to medical tourists.
