Abstract:The following thesis work, examines the Investment Development Path (IDP) hypothesis in Central America, focusing on a perspective from Costa Rica. The document is combining literature review, data analysis, and econometrics, it assesses FDI flows and promotion strategies through national agencies, and general actions from the governments. The results show that the IDP is fulfilled in early stages, with notable regional differences. This research pioneers analysis of FDI and development dynamics in Central America, filling a significant knowledge gap.
