Description
Abstract:Artificial Intelligence (AI) is significantly transforming the global financial sector. These changes affect the labor market, work processes, and general economic efficiency. While AI promises to solve tasks faster and more effectively, it also raises concerns about job losses. Results of the questionnaire conducted for this thesis show that 78% of finance employees believe certain job functions in their department can be replaced by AI within the next 10 years. This thesis explores how AI-powered automation is shaping the finance industry. It focuses on three main topics: the changes in job roles and the labor market, the improvements in work efficiency and productivity, and the need for new policies to address employment challenges and boost economic growth. This study uses and analyzes industry data, real-world examples, and current regulations to give a broad view of AI's impact on global finance nowadays. It highlights the opportunities and challenges that AI presents and proposes strategies to maximize its benefits while reducing potential negative impacts on employment. The overall goal is to provide valuable insights that can assist industry leaders, policymakers, and workers in preparing for and adapting to the AI-driven future of finance.
