Description
Abstract:This thesis investigates the application of digital communication platforms, focusing primarily on Zoom, within a multinational beverage company operating in a hybrid work environment. Through qualitative research based on eight semi-structured interviews across different organisational roles, the study reveals how platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams have become important tools for collaboration, decision-making, and daily interactions. The findings highlight not only the benefits, such as increased efficiency, flexibility, and inclusivity, but also the challenges, including digital fatigue, blurring of work-life boundaries, and the loss of emotional nuance in communication. Role-specific differences in platform use are explored, alongside employees’ personal strategies and suggestions for future improvements. The research concludes that while digital platforms greatly support organisational connectivity, they must be integrated thoughtfully and strategically to maintain human connection, wellbeing, and engagement in the digital workplace. Recommendations for best practices and directions for future research are also provided.
