Description
Abstract:This thesis explores the development of community-based tourism (CBT) in Al Zweitine Town, Syria. The study aims to enhance sustainable tourism practices that benefit the local community by leveraging the town’s cultural and natural heritage. Located near major tourist attractions such as Krak des Chevaliers, Al Zweitine has the potential to grow as a tourism destination. Despite the end of the civil war, Syria’s tourism sector still faces uncertainty, poor infrastructure, and limited local experience. Through stakeholder analysis and local community input, this research identifies key challenges and opportunities to support CBT and promote Al Zweitine as a sustainable tourism destination.
